Got a phone call earlier and explained that I wasn't Camilla (who the man was looking for, from the way he started the phone conversation he obviously knows Camilla well). Minutes later a woman from the same number rang and obviously wasn't convinced I wasn't Camilla either (she also didn't like it when I pointed out someone from her number had just called and asked for Camilla) - what is wrong with people? We have had this number for months so they obviously don't keep in close contact with Camilla but why would they think I was her and pretending not be, was a bit creepy to be honest.

Question Author
Anne - himself is English and has a non- accent (forces brat + private school + officer in the army). Plus, he's far better looking than Dave coaches :)
Sher, have you only just discovered that people are odd?????
Question Author
Woof, I have always thought people were odd but I don't encounter many new people these days so I have built up an immunity to weirdos - he was just a bit smarmy and she was a bit arsey that I wasn't Camilla.
Lol, that's made my day, I love Nessa.
Question Author
I knows, it's lush :)
he rang to say deny all knowledge of me the wife has just found out and she rang to give you a piece of her mind ! but that's not "Camilla's real name either who would want to be called after that certain person ?
Had that. My number here is almost the same as a firm's that hires out marquees, which leads to interesting conversations. In London I had the same thing but for Streatham mortuary. Saying that I'd see whether the person named was free to talk didn't go down well. And the calls would come in groups too, with the callers often getting indignant in their insistence.

Mind, my father once phoned a plumber called Sid, who lived in a nearby village: "Is that Sid the plumber?" "Yes". "About this job I have for you..." .And this continued for some minutes before anyone realised there were two Sid the plumbers in the one village and their numbers were almost the same

Same woman has just rang again, she won't have it that I am not Camilla. Next time she rings I might just answer 'Hello, Camilla speaking'.
sher phone his mum at the palace and tell her to tell Charles he is using the wrong number,
Rather rude and intrusive to phone you again. Perhaps you should tell her to b****** off.
Oh, do play along next time Sherr, so you/we can find out what's going on.
Question Author
She's starting to get on my sick actually, she clearly believes that I am Camilla (but surely she would recognise her voice?).

Wick ^
Play along, Sherr. The phone number of the local probation office was in the telephone book as my number by mistake. Nothing was done about it til I started booking appointments.....☺
Question Author
Sorry, been out (round my friend's house in my, nothing exciting) - we've got caller display so shall answer 'hello, Camilla speaking' if they ring back (AGAIN). Can't understand why they just won't get that I am not Camilla.
