With Hope In My Heart......
31 Answers
I really am hoping that Mic will be home at some point. With this in mind I want to remove a carpet and have new flooring put down. As yet I have not decided what kind of floor, but not carpet. I was checking prices on line. My problem is sizing, different sites say different things. So all you maths buffs can you help please? The room is 3.80 metres X 4.10 metres. How many square metres is that please? Thank you.

(OH tells me of a time when he had just qualified and he went to do a small private job. in one of the bedrooms the owners had rabbits on the loose, hopping about at will. he says the smell was terrible and the carpet was putrid. refused to go in there again. said they could not have been cleaned up for months. do you have anything like that?)
please don't worry about it.

We did our hallway, cloakroom and porch with a wood effect lino from carpetright. It looks great and everyone has thought it was laminate- but of course it's much cheaper and so easy to clean. Bear in mind the carers will probably carrying bowls of water in and out, so you don't want something ruined with a few splashes. That care package sounds exactly right. If it's any consolation, we've started at many houses where clients hadn't had care before and were reluctant or unsure. But we've never had one that hasn't quickly got used to it and they now seem to look forward to us coming in.
I hope it works out for you both xx

jeza my heart goes out to you as I went down the same road last year, just be thankful you will be getting him home, we were told six carers a day or a home for CS [ Chief Stout my hubby] because I put up so much resistance they then offered us a package where we would get an allowance and arrange our own care which meant we could pick our carers and not have to rely on what ever strangers they sent into our home, sadly the amount was never discussed because CS did not make it home. I hope things go well for you.
re flooring I had laminated flooring put all over the house because it was so much easier to clean a steam mop does it in no time, I would have preferred wood but it was too expensive.
