Oklahoma - Hail Satan!
13 Answers
In response to a privately-funded 'Ten Commandments' monument on government property, a group of Satanists have reached their funding target and plan on building a monument to Satan nearby.
They argue that the TC monument violates the first amendment, and that if Christians are allowed to build monuments, so should they.

Valid point or needlessly inflammatory?

Oklahoma State amended federal law to allow for the placement of religious statues within its precincts, and promptly erected a construct detailing "The 10 commandments", spelling errors and all. This was at the behest of some fundie christian state representatives, wishing to reattach religion ( theirs, naturally!) and state.
So of course other religions ( and none) have, quite rightly, decided that if the christians can have one, so can the others, and Oklahoma does not have a legal leg to stand on. It was their own fault. They should have stayed with the Federal Law that requires that State buildings are resolutely secular.
Go Satanists! And it is inflammatory, sure, but not needlessly so :)

Spirited debate on this issue on Fox News the other day, which you might be interested in watching;
One guy reasonably enough says you should just ban all religions from erecting monuments/statues on government property; All the other panellists seem to disagree to a greater or less extent, one even advocating that they should be allowed to erect their monument, then all be shot alongside it. Fine christian attitude, that ;)
