Hi,17071948, the answer to no18 has 11 letters.I realised after I answered that you were just checking on the number count and not asking for help-sorry. The "Gazetteer of British Place Names" is a great help if you can suss out the first or the last word of the clue. Good luck,this is a great quiz.

Sorry if I was jumping the gun,boxtops,but I just confirmed that no 18 definitely has 11 letters to save him contacting the setter. Wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't tell him the answer!

From quiz setter. I appreciate you are only asking for confirmation to the letter count on Qu 18 and not looking for the answer. I can confirm that the answer contains 11 letters and is correct as set out on the quiz paper. Thank you for everybody's contribution. Hoping that no-one gives out the answer at this very early stage.
