Getting Sound Louder On Tablet

I have a nexus 7 . My son contacts me on Skype but the sound isn,t very loud even when turned to the Max. Can they be attached to a Speaker. I have only had this since Christmas so am still learning. Thanks.

If it has an earphone socket then almost certainly yes, (phones will make better use of the power available though independantly powered speakers will give more volume)doesn't it say in the manual.

You can take an output from the headphone jack, flutter. With the right lead, connect to your stereo.

I think you can download apps to increase the volume?

Is there also a sound button on the Skype app you can increase?

A few things you could do:

1. Headphone. Do you have any headphone you could plug in and use? These will give you a louder sound through the benefit of being inside or on your head to some degree!

2. Bluetooth speakers: You could get a bluetooth speaker and have the nexus 7 play out skype through that. I have something like this: Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation - it's very good

3. A speaker docking station (this is the same as above, but you plug it in, and some of them charge the tablet)

4. Can you plug it into any of your current audio equipment? Have you got some spare pc speakers kicking about? They could be used quite happily (assuming they have a normal 3mm jack)
