Last two: 8d 'Opponent of conflict runs out of English port'. I have -o-e.
Presume opponent of conflict is CO (for sonscientious objector) and E for English, but cannot find a port CO-E.
26d 'Aussie runner's small and pale' s-a-. ?S for small and WAN for pale - but why. Cannot refer surely to Graeme, the cricketer who ran from Oz - and anyway he has double NN!
Help please!
