The interior is pretty flimsy but it is comfy and economical. He had to have 2 rear shock absorbers replaced but they were relatively cheap to do (E240).
France is full of them buzzing about so they can't be all that bad......

I used to drive one of these in the 70s: http:// en.wiki pedia.o rg/wiki /Peugeo t_604
Loved it, even though it was a bit thirsty.

Way over priced and mileage also high. I've only ever owned one French car, a Peugeot 307 2 litre diesel used to use it has my work and back car. It turned out to be the worst car I have ever owned, I was forever having to fix ( mainly electrical probs ) the heap of junk, had no problems selling though.
I doubt very much if I would buy another French car.

Cars are more expensive here due to Vehicle Registration Tax which makes them seem overpriced if you're used to UK pricing. If I imported one from the UK I'd have to pay around 30% tax based on the book Irish price (not what I actually pay for the car) and have the vehicle put through a strict test before I can screw an Irish set of plates on it.
They were all rubbish. Needed an estate with an auto box, these are like hen's teeth. Ended up using what I'd saved up plus my trade-in as a deposit with a bit of finance on a 2010 Kia Cee'ed level 3 1.6 diesel estate that I came upon by complete accident. Always detested Kias in the past but the old ones were really nasty. This one is really well laid out, the person who designed it put a lot of thought into it and it has the quality feel that was missing from Kias of old. Stunning to look at too. Something you'd never have caught me saying about a Kia ten years ago.
