What are the safest locks to have on your doors? Plus we are looking to get an alarm system fitted in our house but dont want to spend a fortune. I know there are different levels you can have with different protection.

What is a modest amount to pay for a decent alarm system?

I have ADT is a good brand to use but from what I can gather you have to pay so much a month.

Please advise.

Many thanks

There are any number of door & window security products available, Bobby.
Have a trawl through this lot for starters...............

From a good merchant, you can rely on them being of good quality.

Sorry I can't help with alarms etc. It's a very specialised area these days.
Go for a hard wired system with a speech dialler to alert your mobile if there is an alarm.Unless specified by your insurer you wont need a monitored system i.e.Redcare. A mid range system in a typical 3 bed should cost no more than £500.
We are just going through the same process and have had several quotes. ADT was the cheapest installation but there monthly charge is almost £25.00 per month. We have gone for another local installer whose charges are £9.00.
I went for a Scantronic system fitted with Dual-tec sensors in each of the rooms - have never had a false alarm and the system can be fitted with an auto/speech dialler. Cost = £400-£500.
