I thought it was brilliantly acted but was spoilt by the daft addition of Tyrone looking for his daughters soft toy and the ending completely ruined by Carla barging in. We never even got to see Hayley dying in Roy's arms which although isn't pleasant viewing would have been very emotional and poignant.
I saw an interview with Julie Hesmondhalgh, she said she would've liked the door to be left open for her return, in case her plans don't work out, but because she and Roy were so devoted to each other, the only believable way to split them up was to kill her off (not that the writers usually worry about believable storylines).
