How does one delete stuff on Facebook, ie, websites/businesses/ clubs/ people which I inadvertently joined up to in error ?

in most cases you "unlike" or "unfollow" them. Doesn't always work though especially if they are an advertiser. Once the FB has got you they don't like to let go.
