We've just had our computer updated to windows XP. everything has been updated, and we're with Wanadoo Anytime. After being connected for 10mins, it disconnects then reconnects to another user "WEBPOPUP" telling us that we're being charges at a rate at the bottom of the screen "mega money" please help, i've just run SPYBOT thanx

Sounds like a connection hi-jack, probably downloaded from the net by clicking on bogus links. BT know of the problem and it has been investigated by Ofcom in the past. Look on the BT website for info, as its them who bill you for the premium rate line the malware connects you too.

When you have found it, get a firewall installed, the (XP bundled version is crap) like zone alarm or an encyption program for your router to stop it happening again

Try installing and running these which should hopefully find and remove it:

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

Also make sure your anti-virus software is upto date. Oh and when it connects, pull the plug or it really will cost you "mega bucks"!
