Mm Links January 2014 Week 4

Well here we are at Week 4. Time flies when you’re having fun.
What a plethora of points last week, I must have had a weak moment. How many will be scored this week? Will the link words be straight forward or cryptic? I sometimes think a Crystal Ball might be an advantage.
Talking about time, another fetish I own up to is my collection of clocks and watches. I always think time seems to pass slower when listening to the tick of a Grandfather clock as opposed to the rapid ticking of a smaller clock, yet each minute has sixty seconds and each hour sixty minutes. To date I have thirteen clocks and eight watches. My bedroom clock radio is wonderful, it has an Ipod docking station so I can listen to my favourite music as I nod off. It’s got a timer so no worries about switching it off. A Rolex would be fabulous but unfortunately out of my price range. I would really like an old Westminster Chimes Mantle clock. The old ones just have that wonderful resonance.
Another week closer to the Winter Olympics. It’s a good job I’ve got a nice chair, central heating and wood burner to keep me snug whilst watching television. Recently there have been some emotive topics covered in the Soap Operas, especially Corrie with Hayley’s demise. Talking of soap the washer has just finished its cycle, so wet clothes onto the clothes horse to dry.
I suppose some of us are already planning our summer holidays. Where to go, stay in this country in the hope of another good summer or sunnier climes. Perhaps some families have second holiday homes, a country cottage in the Lake District, or perhaps a time share abroad.
Although Easter is late this year we are finding chocolate eggs in the shops already. My favourite spring flowers are daffodils. Something we’ve got to look forward to after the long dark nights is that the clocks go forward on 29 March this year.
Over the Christmas period I bought raffle tickets, lucky me, my ticket came out second and I won a tin of shortbread biscuits, my favourite. On the topic of biscuits the worst biscuits that have ever been made surely must to be Custard Creams. If they were the only biscuits available I would never eat another biscuit. That would be brilliant, it would really help my diet.
Must get up now and put another log on the fire.
As I sign off, I wonder who will be the second setter of the second month of 2014? Whoever you may be I wish for you a very enjoyable month. Gen2 is really a star at keeping us on the right track and keep tally of all our points.
Farewell from Lady Radley, till the next time.
