Yes, I suggested Hide and Seek on another thread where someone had the same set of letters.
It's James Patterson who is pretty famous but I do not think it is regarded as classic alongside Jane Austin's novels, Charles Dickens, etc

Many thanks for all your efforts. I had thought of Hide and Seek but thought it couldnt be right because it has to be 6,5. Quite a poser isnt it? I am sure my letters are right because they all fit together in the crossword. I will continue to work on it.

Wilkie Collins is certainly a classic author (Woman in White, The Moonstone, etc.) a contemporary of Dickens and regarded by some as the writer of the first whodunnit.
