Going in February, is there any problem about getting the local currency once I arrive as it seems it's difficult to get it over here. Also fancy swimming in the local swimming pools, do they hire out towels?

Just take cash out of the hole in the wall when you get there http://www.icelandprotravel.co.uk/holiday-travel-information-iceland/
No, the currency (krona) is convertible - bloody expensive though for virtually everything.....the towels I have no idea..... the country is beautiful, though Feb will still be wintry and dark - and chilly.
They certainly hire out towels at the Blue Lagoon. About £5 a time though if I remember.

Thanks, think I'll borrow a towel from the hotel
They're bound to have some system for towel hire, given the fame of the hot pools - most hotels won't let you take room towels out of the building....
Iceland is a miserable place.
As for scenery, I never saw any. Unless you like waterfalls and snow-covered peaks which all look the same. There is hardly a tree to be seen.
Go somewhere else.
That's why you go, though, atlanta - for the history, and the geology, and the hot natural springs.....
You can buy special travel towels that are very light and thin but which absorb vast amounts of liquid. Not expensive either.
I forgot to mention, Iceland booze is very very expensive. Take duty free in for whatever you may need. I don't usually bother with duty free but in Iceland it is worth it.
atalanta I've travelled the world and Iceland is one of my high spots. I've never seen landscape like it. Well worth a visit
