Stuck on the last one 25 across (8) Assassin sent to operate in Tyre had trail disguised. T?A?I?R? Looks like an anagram of "had trail" and I can only get either THALIARD or THALIDRA both of which I have googled to no avail! Can any of my usual Knights/ladies in shining armour assist?

Thank you very much people - never thought of checking the Bard - should have done because 3 down and 8 down were his - trouble was I was fixated on the Saracen assassins of the crusades!
