How Can You Clean Marks Off Painted Walls?

I've got a rented flat where every wall is painted white. Not surprisingly, in the 2 years I've lived here there have been a few marks left and i was wondering if there was any way to get rid of them? i know the paint is not washable but is there any other way of making them look better/disappear? Many thanks

I've used Flash Magic Eraser to great effect. In most supermarkets, or Lakeland do their own make.

Your best bet would be to wipe with a damp cloth using a mild detergent. Some of the paint may come off but most should be ok. If there are bare patches just buy a cheap can of white emulsion and give the walls affected a quick coat.

Hi pasta, as with all these type of things you still need to be careful when using on some things including paint as it can remove or mark them as it says on the warning label on them. As with all cleaners try on small area first.

True...it may also depend on the type/quality of paint.

Not easy to touch up either as there are so many different shades of white. Seriously. ( Not referring to shades of grey ).

Try baby wipes....they are excellent for cleaning the off mark off paintwork.

Touching up patches may not work as Graham says as there are so many different whites on the market but if you do as I said in my first post and paint the whole of each affected wall it may not be noticeable.
