Andy Flower Is No Longer England Cricket Coach

A surprise to me after all the good work he's done & he is clearly
carrying the can for the Ashes debacle.

so he should. Occasionally you do get one or two players out of form. When almost the entire team loses form at once, though, there must be something much deeper going wrong. It's the job of the coach (and in this case a variety of specialist coaches - bowling, batting, fielding) to sort it out, preferably before it happens. There's no evidence anyone did anything of the sort.

Flower also made himself look foolish with a recent interview hinting that he couldn't work with Kevin Pietersen. Whatever Pietersen's flaws, he was the top scorer in the Ashes disaster; threatnening to sack your best player isn't a very good gambit in trying to keep your own job.

Credit to Flower for an excellent job he's done in the past - three Ashes series won. But I think his time was up.

I'd agree with jno, I'm just surprised that they didn't wait until after Sunday's almost inevitable defeat.

He had to go. What I find perplexing is that the One Day coach, Ashley Giles, is the current favourite.
Haven't they looked at how the ODI/T20 team perfromed after the Ashes?
We should be looking at Justin Langer, or at least make an approach.
