depends on where you live surely... up here it seems to have been with us since before Christmas.

Okay you want a serious answer, there isn't really anything spectacular about it, the UK is at the end of the Jetstream which keeps feeding low pressures systems, fronts therefore wind and rain into the UK. This year it's hitting the southern half of the UK but similar amounts regularly fall in the north west of the UK every year, they are having dryer years. It's a bad year.

Someone says there is a finite amount of water, well there is 1,338,000,000 cubic km of the stuff and it works through the water cycle as mentioned, it's all just part of being in a temperate zone
