advised not to eat for at least four hours

i'm starving!
Soup and/or custard etc should be OK - anything you don't have to chew.

good idea maggie, thank you (now where do i keep my straws?)
look on the bright side... ?..............no toothache. dentist says don't eat for 4 hours, not such a hardship surely
Be grateful you still have teeth to fill. Lol.
so true, Chrissa, if you think a filling's expensive, look at the costs of getting new teeth

What was it thar hurt the most, excel? The filling or the bill? I hope you are on the mend now and have had something to eat.

the filling was totally painless - she is an excellent dentist..i just did not expect the cost to be so high, especially as i have to go back next week for another one

£56 is good my dentist charges 95pounds just for a check up ,clean and polish he is brilliant though
I recently paid £70 for a small filling so at least you got value for your money!!
We pay £49 for a filling - not that I enjoy it anymore than you excel! Hope you're feeling better this evening and back on solids!
