All the same I'd have actually have thought that they'd have been under the 30 year rule.
Then I discovered that there was a transition to a 20 year rule in place!

I can sort of see their point.
We all know how things are distorted or taken out of context, just look at some of the posts on here. They are briefing notes and undoubtedly would be ambiguous in some areas.
Mrs T's departing papers? Hmm could be interesting but I doubt they will actually give any surprises.

There were no Mrs T departing papers. She was ousted by her MPs not by the electorate. Even the civil servants were surprised by that.
As far as the papers written to brief Kinnock, I doubt there was anything interesting there. Can't understand why he information commissioner wants to surpress them. Possibly doesn't want to set a precedent, we normally have to wait 30 years for Government papers, so possibly doesn't want lots more early requests for info.
