It turns out people who read the Mail and make their own stories up before going on line and complaining about what they imagine they read!

well, obviously joeluke just can't believe anything he reads in the Mail, like so many other people. Unlike others, he then just invents a story.

Not exactly accurate. The £440,000 was an award for "constructive dismissal". If an organisation needs to get rid of someone - and perhaps in this case they did - they should do it properly or be liable to awards like this

Baldric,"Gwent police removed him from the job he loved", as his solicitor put it, sounds like a claim for his contract being wrongfully terminated. But he should have got the money if he had been forced to retire prematurely.

In other words he was moved onto other duties because his employer deemed he wasn't up to doing his job properly.......sounds fair enough to me

Makes me puke!!! I was knocked down by a women driving up a one-way street the wrong way. I have had both knees replaced (right one twice) and a badly damaged irreparable left elbow. I still limp, have continual pain and am unable to continue in my chosen job. I was awarded less than 5% of that amount!!!!!!!

i was surprised the officer didn't end up in the dock, let alone get half a million for hurt feelings.
