Photo files are too big
3 Answers
I recently got a new digi cam but when I load the pics onto my PC they are over 1000KB which is really huge! Any way I can reduce the size of the files without jeprodising the quality of the photos?

Resolution/Size - This will reduce filesize dramatically, but reduce quality dramatically.
Compression/Quality - This should reduce the filesize and not affect quality (that much, some quality will be lost)

If you reduce the picture size to something like 800x600 (pixels) then you will still have pictures of good enough quality for everyone to make out every detail that they need to see.
This should reduce the file size dramatically. If they're not already, "Save as" .jpg rather than something like .bmp
Remember that if you do resize the images like this, save *copies* of them in a different size. Don't mess with the originals otherwise you'll be leaving yourself with pictures of lesser quality without any way of getting back to the best quality ones.
A prog called "Irfanview" can resize a batch of photos all in one go and save the new smaller pics to a different folder so that you have the originals and the small copies (which are then easier to email).
