Why Don't Trousers Have Different Coloured Legs?

Saw a like-student-yah today wearing breeks with different coloured legs. Made me wonder why we don't see more. Is there anything aesthetically wrong with wearing clothes with differently coloured legs or sleeves?

It made me feel quite peculiar all night every time I glanced down!

Once I made a theatrical costume for a friend - for a very symbolic play. All the evil characters wore black, the goodies wore white, but this friend was ambiguous, so I made his costume of pied motley - black and white, one trouser leg white the other black, one sleeve black, half the front of the jacket white etc etc - you get the idea. He wore it to parties and it started a fashion.
