Error Code:0X8000000A

On coming to open certain documents on Windows Live Photo Gallery,I get a box with a red circle with a white cross in it and it says :An error is preventing a photo or video from being displayed.Error Code:0x8000000a.

Can anyone please help me with a solution

The web is full of suggested solutions but most of them seem to involve downloading, and running, software from sites that I know nothing about, so I won't point you towards any of them. The only other solution to fixing the problem I can find (that I would be happy to try myself) is to run System Restore to take your computer's registry back to a date before the problem first occurred.

However a far more sensible solution would be to forget about Windows LIve Photo Gallery altogether. (It's from Microsoft, so it's bound to be cr*p!). Irfanview is about a zillion times better:

The docs I can`t open are shortcuts(other docs are ok...have them on USB and have put them into my other PC`s...cannot find the original...must be somewhere!!!!
