Appeals questions

Hi, all, think this should be in jobs and careers, but think I may get more response here. And this will seem like a stupid, last minute question. But I have an appeal hearing tomorrow, re my daughter 6th form college application. I am very bad at expressing myself, especially infront of very educated people! But am dreading any questions they ask. That I may freeze. Any hints or advice appreciated. ASAP!

I'm probably not the best person to respond to this question because I really enjoy the type of situation which you might be facing. I'm told, however, that the trick for 'mentally disempowering' figures of authority is to imagine them naked!

(NB: This isn't meant to be a facetious or 'funny' reply. Friends who've got less self-confidence than I have in such situations have told me that it really works!).

PS: I've just been trying to work out why it is that these situations don't worry me. I think that it's because I never think of it as a 'question-and-answer' situation. I just regard it as having a conversation with equals. So, perhaps you should look forward to having a conversation with a group of naked people! :-)

Thanks Chris, I think my problem is sometimes expressing myself vocally. And yes feeling intimated by the panel, who we met today, Stage 2 is tomorrow. Think its down to my total lack of confidence. And my ex husband will be attending, and think he always treated me as a bit of a thicko. Maybe I will let him do all the talking!

And yes, I will try and imagine the panel naked (you should see the panel!) And maybe take some Rescue Remedy beforehand! Thanks again
