Hi all,

Can anyone reccomend an MP3 player (6gb minimum) that acts as a normal removable drive in Explorer? and therefore allows drag and drop for files and songs. I want to use it as a hybrid device across multiple laptops and PC's and so don't want to have to go back to a central PC through proprietory software like itunes or WMP - cable up and drag and drop is all I ask.

Any ideas?

Yup, try the iRiver H Series, just what you're looking for I'd say.

I use this one:

can be used just like a hard drive - drag and drop - or storage, etc. And pretty cheap for 20 gigs.

Most cheap and simple MP3 players act in this way.
How much do you want to spend up to? Do you want a radio, direct recording etc.

Key thing for me is storage - so the 6Gb or even the 20Gb H10 looks good. I have a couple of flash players that do run in this way as you say, but I have USB sticks for data of 1Gb and under so I'm looking over th 5Gb mark.

Feature wise I am going to use it a lot on long haul flights so at least 12hrs battery is a must, or at minimum a removable battery - otherwise anything else (radio / recording) is simply fluff to me.
Ian, look at the Samsung YH-J70 - very long battery life, 20GB (there is a 30GB) - easy to use and does video. Can be picked up for about 180 (compare with the iRiver). I have one and love it.
