Any tips on how to train my brain to think on the positive side of life. Sometimes I can be positive, but lately I am only thinking on the negative side of life.

Are there any brain training exercises I can do to help with this?

It really is about attitude, muchlovex - try to think about the good things in your life, do a bit of blessings-counting. It's a lovely day today, the sun is shining, I'm reasonably healthy, I have a computer, I'm on AB... it's looking at the up-side on everything, not always looking for the downsides.
Think of a few really good things, even if you don't really believe them and say them over and over to yourself, out loud if you're on your own - feels daft but it can help change your mindset - and saying them with a smile helps even if you don't feel like it. It worked for me when I was in a very low place.
Agree with boxtops, you really do have to concentrate your mind on positives, and keeop bringing it back when anything negative creeps in again. It's somehting I'm having to do a lot of recently!

there are some tips here though;

yes there are - OH would help you personally if you were in striking distance. There are whole stables of different therapies and therapeutic approaches, no 'one' is proven the best, but it's a question of what works for you, and if you are ready for change to happen then you can make it happen, perhaps with a little support.
You could ask your GP - at present the NHS seems to favour a therapy called CBT. You could give it a go, what's to lose?
Make a list of positive things about yourself and your situation. If you find negative thoughts popping up refer to that list. If you dwell on the negative those put-yourself-down thoughts will fester.
Think positive. It works.
you can try the mental stop shout. As soon as you recognise a negative thought mentally shout stop as loud as you can then MAKE yourself do a positive one. You can also have a rubber band around your wrist and ping it on your wrist instead of shouting stop.
The best tip from my friends was a book called the "secrect" I swear by it, you will never think negative again!
Do some charity work in the local community. Charities are always looking for volunteers. You will start to feel good about yourself and the social networking could lead onto other things. Good luck.

TTG - I have recently signed-up to be a befriender and will be starting with them voluntary within the next week or so. Maybe I will feel more better about myself when i am helping others.
When you are looking to be positive in your life, the first thing you should have is the patience. You have to recognize that you are going to make a move from the negative thinking in your life. You have to make things work on a implementation basis where you have to take the steps one at a time.

First start by being positive in silly things and practice it regularly. Make progress every day and eventually you will get better result. Affirmations can also work very well with the positive thinking. Get to know more information about positive thinking at http://affirmationsforpositivethinking.com/positive-think.htm
