Can anyone help my flat screen tv which is I suppose about five years old,

It will come on with a picture, then after a minute or two goes black. Sound ok. Something has gone! Is it repairable or is it the usual today...built in obsolescence ?

Depends how old it is, the modern flat screen TVs are just 1 very large integrated circuit, when it goes you just scrap it and buy a new one.
