Recently bought a laptop and was told by the shop that I should also buy Norton security. Duly did (but still not installed), having connected to BT broadband they offer free security.

Given I have both BT and Norton and they can't run alongside each other can anyone tell me which is the best one to use or is it just personal preference?

Thanks in advance

I personally don't like Norton because it uses up a lot of CPU power, slowing even the most powerful machine down. It's a good product but there are other means of protection.

I would certainly take the free BT security if they are offering the free 3 month trial. But after this use a combination of the free utilities out there for blocking Spyware, firewalling etc ;

Lavasoft Adaware, Grisoft Antivirus, Spyware Blaster SpyBot Search & Destroy and ZoneAlarm are all free and worth using.
