Where Did You Meet Your Oh?
176 Answers
My sister joined a dating website a few months ago. She's been happily single for 8 years and isn't all that bothered, but giving it a go.
She thinks she doesn't meet many men because she doesn't have really ggo to pubs and clubs. So, we were wondering how many people did meet their future husband/wife/SO in a pub or club. I guessed not as many as you might think.
I met my OH because he was one of my karate instructors.
Where did you meet yours? With as much or little detail as you like!

After my husband died I stagnated at home. Just went to work, came home and closed the curtains. Only highlight was doing the weekly shop. Did this for two years, then daughter stepped in, gave me a telling off and told me to get out there. So I sent off for a Solo's brochure. I noticed they had a singles weekend in Stratford on Avon but that was only about twelve...

I met my current partner originally back in 1974 at the NAAFI club on my RAF base - got engaged - she finished it and then I met my late wife at another NAAFI club on another base where I was working on the door. After she passed I was re-united with my partner thanks to her contacting me via Faceache
My OH was a cashier in the hotel where I was staying in Blackburn. She came into the bar at just gone 11pm to empty the till.
The barman commented that here was his next girlfriend, to which I placed a bet with him that I, not him, would take her out first.
With that, I followed her to the reception and asked her to accompany me to the local nightclub (the cabaret was Bob Monkhouse who was amazing!), she agreed, and on our third date I proposed.
We've now been married for 43 years.

OH and myself met at work. I still remember seeing him for the first time walking down a corridor towards me and the smile he gave me. 13 years later, still weak at the knees :-)
I used to work in a gym and was amazed how many people met/ dated/ got married from working out. Other than that, a couple of people I know met through walking their dogs and chatting, leading to dating.
