Oh its all very confusing
At the moment we have Sky with the Sports package but I am thinking of changing next season to BT as they seem to have more premier league matches. But then there is Virgin to consider
What has everyone else got?

Moved recently from Virgin to BT, principally because of the broadband service. With Virgin, my service had become incredibly slow, frequently suffering minor "outages", and requiring several engineer visits who mostly fiddled with the "frequency". I think, bluntly, they were victims of their own success in my area and the service had become oversubscribed.

No such issues with the BT infinity package. Rock solid broadband services, no outages or engineer visits required.

As far as the TV goes, I did have a virgin cable package, but found that Freeview offered me pretty much everything I wanted.

If you want a package that involves Films or Sports/ Football, if they are important to you, then that will probably end up informing your decision.

virgin are OK when everything is OK. but when it's not, they only take any notice if you make a complete nuisance of yourself. even then, I endured an appalling service for 3 months due to a cable fault they knew was there, but couldn't be bothered to fix because it only affected a handful of subscribers.

We've always had Sky, the full package except HD, but OH is wobbling now because they've lost the rugby. Virgin is not available in my area, what percentage of the UK can get it I wonder?

Prudie - we don't have the HD now either - I cannot tell the difference to be honest

At present Sky have 116 Premier League games and BT have 38.

BT have gained the exclusive Rights to Champions League and Europa League from 2015 when they trumped Sky and others with a massive £897 million bid.

The present Premier League TV football rights run up to the 2015 season, it seems that the competition between Sky and BT will be fierce.

Personally I have the Sky Sports package plus BT Sports on the Sky platform for another £12 a month and I won't be making any change for the foreseeable future.

Who knows how the Football Rights for the 2016/17 rights will turn out, whatever it's bound to be for eye watering amounts.

a sky salesman in the shopping arcade tried to get me to sign up, as he knew i am disillusioned with virgin at the moment

i said i would love to sign up for the basic package plus the formula 1 channel
he said i had to have the sports package, and not just the formula 1

i declined to sign on - i cannot see why I can't only have the formula 1 channel

Excelsior - I'm not really into sports but I do love Formula 1.
I don't have much time for films either so I just have the basic Sky package.
This does include the Formula 1 channel so I'm very happy!

The Sky F1 channel comes free with Sky HD basic package. I believe it's £21.50/month these days.
