When I open my laptop I now have to maximise my screen to log on and the same when I open a link. Don't know what I've done differently. Anyone know how to put it back to the normal size when I open up? Thanks I'm on HP Vista
Windows 8.

I'm not in for much longer this morning, I'll log on later.

When you get a smaller-than-required window, try maximising it by clicking-&-dragging on the edges to pull them out as far as they'll go (rather than by clicking the 'maximise' button). Windows usually remembers that setting for future use. However if it doesn't work, see here:

Thanks Chris, simples. x
If you'd like to split it to half screen you can always press:

Windows + LEFT

Or

Windows + RIGHT

This "snap" feature is good for comparing two pages next to one another.
oh... that's clever, Ed. Must remember that.
Windows + Left + Right gives you quarter size windows.
not for me, it just gives me top-half-of-the-screen

When I logged on this evening I had to resort to your link Chris, and it's now OK. Thank you Ed for the split screen advice, I am a total idiot what do you mean windows + L or R? Windows key but .....+.L or + R what?
left = left arrow

Ignore me- AB won't let me type something that looks like a left arrow and right arrow

Lol factor had to laugh at your try, I'm a real dope looking for the L and R arrows the only ones I tried was the tab key and the ones alongside the up and down keys while holding the window 'flag' key, but nothing happens with them.

These ones?

Yes, I can do them that way now, thanks. It was the use of the 'greater than' and 'less than' signs that AB didn't like

Nothing works so far for me. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks factor and Slackalice.
