Does anyone know of an app (for mobile phones) which would allow users of hearing aids, to switch to the T setting on their aid and hear the caller more distinctly please?

My other half has just purchased a phone from them and it is really good, especially for the deaf or hard of hearing. No problems hearing phone conversation s with it unlike the old phone and it is for people with hearing aids and it works well without having to set it, it's hearing aid compatible. Sorry but I can't see how an app (which is purely software) could have any control over the hardware of a phone (which determines its compatibility with hearing aids).
You'll probably need to seek out another phone. Action on Hearing Loss (which is the trading name of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, and should therefore be reliable) has a suitable range:
