If You Had A Twin, But Didn't Realise...

I watched this and felt that they were really condescending and bytchy about every single design idea that wasn't 'cream and beige' and looked like it came from a catalogue!
all the contributers seemed to think the same - why do people get so arsed about other peoples taste in home decor? why do they think that anyone who has something 'a bit different' is insane, mad, sad, a loser, deranged, an idiot etc etc?
i mean why should their be only one 'acceptable' style?
you only get one life and your home is your castle and i say decorate it any way YOU like, not the way some jumped up idiot has decided it should be that week.
there seemed to be very little left once they'd finished their list - almost everything was 'wrong' - i wouldn't mind but most of the things they now detested were things that 5-10 years ago they were raving about!!
why can't people just accept other peoples choices instead of condemning them in such a venomous way? - particularly when its something so innocuous as home decor...if they got that bothered about something that was actually inportant & was actually their business, the world would probably be a better place.
I say each to their own and nothing is wrong - who wants to be like everyone else anyway?
what do you all think? anyone got any themed bathrooms? a garden full of gnomes? stencillers elbow?

I am very interested in design, and whilst I may not have the skill level, I like to think I have a good eye (doesn't everyone). The rooms they 'made over' on that show they used to do in order to sell peoples houses where 90% revolting. I cannot stand what they do and don't think they have an original thought between them.
There are 'rules' of design that do work, but ultimately your home should reflect your character, or it will not be your home. I for one wouldn't want to live in a show home and guests tend not to feel comfortable in houses that are not 'lived in'.
i agree that many of the things mentioned were - in my opinion - not very nice, but the very tone of their voices and looks on their faces said a lot about what they thought of the sorts of people who make those choices - they did also made quite a few very snide comment, as did the other contributers
i do like those two though.
however i would have liked to have seen them present with less 'sneeriness' and more good natured humour
sp - if you criticise someones attire, you are criticising them...not the clothes manufacturer - same with decor.
