Dulux Advert
5 Answers
In the latest Dulux advert that takes one back to 30s Chicago and the mobs attack a load of paint tins, but a woman happens to pick up an undamaged one, and later manages to paint the walls of her apartment all out of one can.
Isn't that false adversing because I have never know a single small tin of Dulux or any other brand of paint for that matter, go so far? :0)

On the other hand, maybe she visited a paint speakeasy and got hold of some more of the same colour before starting the redecorating. Incidentally, the vehicles in the ad are 1940s models, and the police car has orange turning indicator lights fitted in its front wings.
aog has a point. The ASA certainly take ads seriously and the film implies that at least three walls of a room are painted from one can.
I think that does indeed suggest (if only subconsciously) paint coverage that is misleading. Which may be a deliberate and clever ploy of course.
The ASA seem to have taken a different view or, more likely, decided it was negated by the 'fantasy' context of the ad.
Perhaps a complaint to the ASA might provoke an interesting reaction aog?
