Stay well clear of the big names that you see on the TV. Any work I have seen them do is great. It's all very well if money is no object, but their prices will leave you reeling. My neighbour had Everest in a few weeks ago. The sales mans first quote was £16,500.
Four hours later he was down to £6250.
Needless to say he never got the job.
If you are in Worthing I know of a local company who never need to advertise as their reputation finds them all their work.
Rustington Glazing ... a small local company who have been going for about 15-20 years.
The owners do all the fitting themselves, this way the quality is maintained.

Provided you're happy with the price, I'd recommend Anglian. Over time, we've had a conservatory, double glazing, patio door and soffits/facias from them. Very impressed with their after sales support. Eight years into our conservatory, we had a rep round for a quote for double glazing and he noticed the pattern in the 'lead lights' had faded. We hadn't noticed that ourselves and within a couple of weeks they had replaced all 8 panels with a different design of our choice. (And no, we didn't buy the double glazing at that time.) Later, we had the front door replaced because of some minor delamination in one of the frames. By all means check out local suppliers/get recommendations but don't pass over any money without some form of guarantee. The industry is notorious for failures (as one local couple has just found out, losing £12,000 of hard earned savings).
Dont let them mess you about, ask them for their cheapest price, or 'ringing my manager to see if we can get the price down'. My hubbie said 'give me your best price or you know where the front door is' and it worked. However that company has now gone bust ! Not due to us I may add.... Just be aware what salesmen can be like, double glazing has a bad name.
good idea, smurfy but at that stage, they may not know. My friends went to a local firm on the recommendation of someone who was also having it installed. Several years later, BOTH the people are unhappy with the firm...I would be asking people who have had their DG for some years if they are still happy with it.
