Google Maps (New Format)

Has anyone been having trouble with the new Google Maps format? I have never had any problems before but since the change every time I use it, it freezes my computer. I find it very slow and I get an intermittent buzzing noise. I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7.
Any suggestions as to what's causing this or how I can fix it?

I've found it very difficult to use, and the results have been of much lower quality. I have a fast connection and a modern browser - so I can't imagine that there's much wrong with the set up beyond the fact they've under-optimized it.

You could have a look at Nokia's HERE maps:

It's not perfect, but it's quite good - and doesn't have the same problems as I'm having with Google.

What are you trying to do with Google maps? Maybe there's a way round it?

I'd expect them to update it soon enough.

I use Bing Maps for most things, great once you're used to them.

I use bingmaps. I like the Ordnance survey map feature. Great for finding walks for the dog.
