Just finished Silencer by the wonderful Andy McNab. He's an ex soldier and ex SAS and his books are all based on true events which make them even more shocking, gripping and quite disturbing. I love them all though. A rollicking read and I recommend it and all his other books.

The good, the bad and the furry by Tom Cox. Ostensibly, this is about one man's relationship with his cats, but the descriptions of his dad's actions had me laughing out loud
