Police Application help!!!
3 Answers
Heya guys!
Well I've been hoping to join the Police Force for a long time and I've finally got around to receiving the initial application form.
It is nearly 20 pages long and have, what I believe, quite good answers to every question.
I was just wondering what would it need to make me really stand out? Also the questions like "What tasks to you expect to undertake?" and "Why do you want to do this?" I have answers already, but they seem to be quite bog standard.
I was wondering if anyone out there could help, be it a police officer or not :).
Thanks in advance! c:)

My advice would be stay very PC and minority aware and use that as a basis for formulating your answers. If it's somethng you've always wanted to do don't be shy to say that, perhaps you see it as a vocation and not "just a job" again you could emphasise that an appeal may be that everyone starts at the same point and whether you choose the promotion route or the specialism route simply the sky's the limit driven by your own determination to succeed in which ever career path you choose. Regarding "What tasks you expect to deal with" you could reply along the lines of the appeal of the Police service is that you may never know from one minute to the next what is going to happen and therefore the tasks will be extremely varied and forever changing adding that you believe with the training you recieve you would be able to adjust to these situations.

Hi. As a police officer with experience of the form you are filling in, if you can imagine it's all about you evidencing skills and abilities that you possess as a civilian that could be easilly transferred to a Police Officer. .I have helped people like you to complete the form and one thing I will say is to ensure that the information you provide is accurate and the experiences you describe are real as you may be asked questions about it at a later date. Another thing I use to advise applicants to do is to enquire with the training dept at your local police station and ask them to give you further insights into being a police officer. I use to be a training officer and what I would do is to give people like yourself real insight into becoming a Police Officer and show them around the police station so they got a real feel of what policing is all about.

Hi, a bit late on this answer but it may still help someone. I have it on good authority that the last few questions outside of the Police competency questions don't actually count towards the points that your form will score. However, I always believe in being safer than sorry! try police application help, it may help you! Media URL: http://www.applicationformpolice.co.uk
