Are you totally sure about that title, Woodelf? (Hello, by the way!).

By law, a copy of every book published in this country has to be deposited with the British Library. Although their catalogue lists 28 volumes that begin with the words 'Art Is' there is no book listed that just has those two words as the complete title.

As far as I know Chris, that is the correct title - Waterstones have a copy, if anyone is popping in there some time or other.
Aha! Since it's from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, it's probably not published in the UK. That would explain it. (Well done, Canary 42!).

And I echo Buenchico's words Canary and an extra Brilliant from me and Many Thanks. But the book is on sale in UK, as my partner saw it in Wstones yesterday and to save you asking why I didn't ask her, I'm hoping she'll have forgotten about it by her birthday...being as I am, I have to buy on what I hear and remember!
Not difficult, I just looked in Waterstones like you said :)
Ah! Published last October. That's why there's no sign of it on Abebooks yet!
Hi woodelf, it's possible to order it direct from the Metropolitan Museum (in dollars, with appropriate postage from the US, of course) http://store.metmuseum.org/met-publications/art-is/invt/80014976

I was hoping it might be in the Museum Selection catalogue which takes bits from many museum shops but I can't see it.

If you wanted to do it that way (rather than Waterstones) let me know...
Question Author
Many Thanks for the offer Boxie, but I can buy the book from amazon.co.uk.
