Are online degrees any good and do employers really care wether they are online or uni studied?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I think, to a lot of employers, a degree is just an indication that you can apply yourself to a task without losing interest. Obviously in some employment spheres it does matter whether or not the degree you have is relevant to the post you are applying for. There are many more where it doesn't. A distance learning degree is also a sign that you can juggle several balls at once, so in that respect it can be seen as a plus.
The draw back with distance learning is that it can sometimes take twice as long to complete a degree course, than using the conventional route. All in all it will depend on the employer. some traditional employers prefer you to wear the right colour of "old school tie" and some (myself included) couldn't care less which route has been taken.
