406 remote central locking

hi i can only get my 1998 406 estate executive to lock or unlock using the remote central locking about once or twice a week i have checked the battries in the key and the fuses but cant find anything amiss it still locks using the key in the door but its getting on my nerves that the remote dos'nt work any possible soulutions great fully recived...................ern
