Flown with them a few times and they are very good, never had a problem on any trip.
Highly recommended. Have never had a bad experience with Virgin Atlantic and have flown with them countless times. In fact ive only flown the US with 1 other airline American... and i wouldnt do so again. Service and comfort just doesn't come up to Virgins standards. If you're going on a Virgin Package hol their in resort/city staff out there are also really good and they only seem to pick good hotels.
Flew with Virgin to Barbados and I agree they are fantastic. Bags of leg room, the flight attendants are charming. On the return journey, we didn't have to carry our luggage to the airport - they came to our hotel and checked it there. Oh, and they give great goodie bags! Used American Airlines once to New York - never again. On arrival at Heathrow, we had already been allocated seats (not together) and the flight crew were the most miserable bunch of people ever.
yes (though not recently), and have never had any trouble. But I believe American are still best for leg room, which is more important to me than smiling trolley dollies and goody bags.
Next to singapore airlines or New Zealand (only for comfort) they are still number one as long as you dont mind the colour red. Can make some people sick.
Flew Virgin Atlantic to Florida last summer with Mr Spudqueen and the kids. They were great, backpacks for the kids with games etc in, individual tv screens with loads of channels (including dedicated kids ones) and ice cream brought round during the films!

Got to plug this one: http://www.airlinequality.com/Airlines/VS.htm for rating on the Airlinequality.com site. Loads of info on airlines - have fun looking at the inflight meals.....!

(thinks to self: must improve social contact.........)

Fly with them about four times a year, food isn't brilliant but always a good flight and never had a problem.
The Army sent me to the USA early in 2003 to train with American troops. I flew from Heathrow to Dulles airport in Washington and had a wonderful flight there and just as good on the return trip, no compaints at all

Fantastic! In my opinion their level of customer service & comfort far exceeded any other airline I have flown with. The staff were very attentive & impeccably professional throughout the entire flight (and there were some very loud, demanding passengers on the plane) and there was so much in-flight entertainment to choose from that I was actually disappointed to reach my final destination!

Also, coming back from the States because of a mistake by airport staff, I arrived at the check-in desk after boarding had closed. When I explained what had happened, the check-in clerk got on her radio immediately, arranged for my luggage to be collected and personally escorted me through to the boarding gates with minutes to go. Even though it was an inconvenience to Virgin caused by someone else, they never raised any objections at all and remained friendly & smiling throughout.

Personally, I wouldn't even look at another airline to fly to America. Enjoy your flight!

I've flown with Virgin Atlantic and can only re-iterate what has already been said - they are the best airline I've ever flown with (and I've flown with ALOT)
Yes travelled to New York and Also Boston Both times absoluteley brilliant. I don't normally like airline food but theirs was very good. Hope you enjoy.

Sorry - have to disagree - the cabin crew were all employed for their looks in my opinion - they were rude and spoke to me as if I was an idiot [my TV didn't work] Another point which annoyed me - they did not have any choice of white wine - only Chardonnay - which I hate.

BA is better - Ok you feel like you are being 'precessed' but it is done in an efficient way, AA must have the oldest stewardesses in the air but you get a lot of leg room......Just my 2 cents worth!
