A cracking puzzle I thought.

The toughest for a while and not an easy theme for our non uk solvers to find out about I suspect.

Getting the 2 long entries is the key but that is not easy!

Yes - one tough but first-rate EV.
I usually enjoy slotting in the clues in this type of puzzle, but found it difficult with missing entries.

Just missing one across clue, probably got it already actually but not quite sure.

Well, with a little help from my friend I am more or less finished, NW corner just dragging a bit but just love the theme and presume it is the second 11 letter down clue we highlight. Such a clever construction which would have been totally beyond the feeble grey matter without the nudge, but such enjoyable clues. And NO Maths!!!!!!

More likely it's an across entry to be highlighted.

The source of the 13a is 1a, so R4E should be highlighted. I did wonder why DUO and ANI were not included as down entries - perhaps we shall never know !
