When I Synch My Iphone To Itunes I Can't Find My Pics

When I synch my iphone to itunes I can see my apps but can't see my pics.
Why is this?

iTunes is mainly used for playing Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps & Podcasts.

You will have to use another Application/Program to view your Pics out with iTunes.
On my Mac I use Preview or iPhoto to view and manage my Pics and Photos.
Not to sure about nasty PCs.

Yup - I have a nasty PC so that's the help I need!

I remember asking about this before and someone told me that pics, notes, text messages etc are transferred/synched but that they are saved to an 'invisible' file. Does that sound right?

Itunes doesn't synch pictures from the phone to the PC and only does PC to phone if you tell it to. To get your pictures from the phone follow the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

When I plug my iPhone into the PC, photo wizard (think that's what it's called) pops up and asks me if I want to import the pictures from my phone. Have a look to see if you have that application or similar.

They should be in photo stream if you've got iCloud switched on.

I have over 1000 pics to transfer. Is the high number of pics likely to cause any problems?

It'll probably take friggin ages.

As per Rocky it'll take a while but no real problem, organizing them if you do it in one hit will be problem though

I know, it's gonna take donkeys isn't it?!! I had started to email them in batches of 5 to my laptop.

If I use the guidance in that link Fitzer, am I able to transfer them in groups or will they all go at the same time?

No idea I'm afraid, I would imagine that you can grab as few or as many at a time as you want
