Firefox Problem
9 Answers
I tried to open a link in an email (trusted source) but got the message 'Firefox is already running but not responding' and advising me to close Firefox. As far as I can see there is nothing running on it; the icon at the bottom is not in use. I usually use Chrome, though I did install Firefox some months ago, since when some sites seem automatically to open using that. What should I do to close it? Would it be best to uninstall it?

If you had closed FF shortly before clicking on the link then try again.
If not then try using Alt-tab which brings up a list of currently opened windows; if it is there then click on Firefox to bring it to the fore else you'll either have to use the task manager and kill off the firefox.exe process (which is the quickest way) or simply reboot.

I sometimes get a message close Firefox or close down Computer.
My method is simple and does Not require waiting for Computer to Re-Boot, with the possibility of loosing prepared material.
Click start button as if about to close down but select 'Log-Off' and, having done so, immediately 'Log-On'.
Hans.
