one dust cart here 5.30 am, followed by Barclays Bicycle van stacking the rows of bicycles shortly after, traffic really starts going 6ish, throughout the day, you would think you could get a bit of quiet in the evening, but a heavy duty vehicle has parked up and is digging up the road, its now almost 8.20pm - if i can't hear myself think who would be surprised.
I always thought that there were restrictions on noise, but its simply ignored.
some joker suggested in the local paper, to ease congestion in the day we should have all delivery vehicles deliver in the evening, my response would have unprintable -
is it quiet where you are? - thinking of finding a deserted isle.
The reason that I ask, emmie, is that when I'm on morning shift on my way to work I travel through my local town at around 5.30 am and I often see a bin wagon or two emptying those dumpster type things that shops use.
We get the occasional mega truck and loonies on hyperactive mopeds ..Oh and the bells, the town clock and the church clock, otherwise it is quieter than the countryside where we used to live. No tractors, combine harvesters, and garlic planters here. Our back garden is next to a little road that has about 2 vehicles per day other than the post van. However this year our (front)road is going to be upgraded.....:o(
if it was say after 7am when things are moving, then i wouldn't have a problem, but this is just daft, and the guys who were digging up the road, have finally left.
I live in a village in a spot so silent at night that friends of mine visiting from the city get the creeps.
But you don't want to be around while the locals are muck-spreading. And the sparrows are really noisy in the mornings in springtime. Cheeping away like nobody's business.
You can't win 'em all.
