The game has now closed and it produced another split with two popular links and two more obscure ones.

I can now reveal that 'Good King John II' (aka rockfordill) was looking for the following matches:-

A massive 58 points awarded this weekend so really tough luck for those still failing to score (12 of you in this game).

Straight in at 9:01 was roslyn251254 with both the popular links of BLACK SHEEP and PLOUGH SHARE for 4 points
Ulysses100, tearinghair, Aquagility & owllady were in time for the bonus on 'Black Sheep' while
ulysses100, grannydi, tearinghair, Christiana, Aquagility, seekeerz & owllady were in time for the bonus on 'Plough Share'.

Grannydi collected 2 points for being first with TIDE MARK

But, with just seconds to spare on the bonus points for the two links mentioned above, Owllady claimed the final link of STARLIGHT for a further two points. In fact, she was the only player all weekend to opt for that pairing.

So, for being highest scorer, for being a triple hitter and for being the unique discoverer of the final link (apart from a late entry by eccles):

I think it is time to remind players that at the start of every game we clearly state that the answers sought are from 4 to 8 letters in length.

Hooray - I must go away more often. Edinburgh was lovely and we were lucky with sunny but cold weather! Just on the train home now!

Thank you KJ II and gen2. After a very poor start I hadn't expected to be anywhere near the top this month. 7 hours time difference (and 8 the following weekend I think) means that there's no chance of posting for 9 am UK time next Saturday; I'll try later in the day but it will be from son's computer as I won't have the phone's roaming facility switched on.
