thinking of changing from sky,has anyone got bt tv,is it any good.i am having a lot of problems with the internet on sky so I was going to change,either to virgin or BT.

It's up to you but I wouldn't,you will probably have the same problems multiplied if you switch,I have had BT and Virgin and couldn't wait to get back to Sky,only my experienceby the way,no doubt someone will be along and advise you better.

its only since xmas I have been having problems,and its driving me nuts,engineers have been out and says its fine,and they would monitor it,but they ran out of time yesterday and supposed to come back and finnish it today but didn't turn uo,said they phoned but didn't,complained again,someone supposed to be up on Monday but I wouldn't hold my breath
Never had any reason to complain about Virgin. No hideous dish, loads of HD channels that you don't pay extra for, and loads of Sky channels too.

I have the full package with sky,sport,movies etc.i have some fave.channels and reluctant to leave sky but this cant go on.
I have BT TV. I signed up last August. You don't get as many channels as other providers but there are documentaries on the sport channels that are quite interesting. Both my partner & I enjoy watching sport. You get the normal freeview channels. The only problems we have had are when there was the storms a few weeks ago. We are in the South West. It was a tad windy. Also you can get BT sport on your phone etc and connect to the internet in a 'Hot Spot' as part of the package. Think I pay about £30-£35 per month. Adequate for what we require. Also I begrudge paying any amount for a service that is now becoming more and more essential to everyday life.
I have had BT for over three years, (too complicated to change). I hate BT with a deep and bitter hatred. They are useless. Constantly breaking down and talking to the staff in India is useless as they work from a script and have no authority to organise any repairs. Avoid like the plague.

virgin are no better than your description of sky's customer care - I've had a sub-standard broadband service for months now. Virgin know what the problem is (a cable fault) but because it affects only a handful of subscribers they can't be bothered to fix it. If I ring up they say "fixed in six weeks", when it isn't and I ring up again they say "fixed in six weeks", and so on ad-infinitum.
/Purchase the fibre optic cabled Broadband from mainstream providers and you can expect good service./

All well & good if you're in a city, town or anything bigger than a hamlet, it seems! BT have told me that we're low on their update list & not to hold my breath.

The last time I checked, East Sussex was the worst served county for high-speed broadband & it doesn't look like changing any time soon.

the internet has been going great since early evening,i will see how long it ngoes on,got another call from sky this evening and they are sending another engineer out on Wednesday.
I've just changed from virgin to BT and the service is much better. I had no internet access with Virgin and they were unconcerned. They did offer to reduce the sum from £20.35 to £5 per month but I pointed out that I didn't want to pay anything for a service I didn't have. Eventually they said they could only e-mail my MAC code to me. Then I pointed out that I didn't have any internet access and they were flummoxed. Now they have sent me a bill but have denied me access to my account to pay it. BT are much better but their access is NOT unlimited like Virgin so be careful
