I have a Belling double oven, as yet little used, and do not understand the middle one of its three control knobs. 0ne on the right is obviously the main oven control, one far left the top oven control which includes grilling symbols. The third knob is numbered 1 to 8 but the instruction manual does not explain how that should be used. Can anyone help please?

It looks like the middle knob is for the temperature of the grill. Far left knob you turn to half grill, full grill & then top oven and set the temperature. Middle button is for temperature of the grill. You need to turn 2 buttons to make the grill work ie far left and middle to temp.

Model number 444449588. I have the instruction booklet but it doesn't answer my particular point about using the middle one of the three controls. It could be a grill but nothing happens when I switch it on. It's nothing to do with gas which is not connected. Thanks for your offers of help.
